The Samsung Galaxy Note phone has been a
member of the Samsung line up for quite some time now. The phone is
relatively the same phone as Samsung’s main smartphone, the galaxy, but
adds several inches of size to the phone. Being a competitor to Apple,
Samsung competes directly with iPhone’s plus line. Both of the phone’s
are larger versions of their parent model, galaxy and iPhone.
However, Samsung’s newest phone, the
Galaxy Note Seven possesses a feature which none of its competitors do,
self destruction. The Galaxy’s lithium battery is very similar to any
lithium battery used on a cell phone. History has shown lithium
batteries as a safe power source for smartphones, but this years newest
phone has proven otherwise. The batteries for the Samsung Galaxy Note
Seven are equipped with fail safes, which have been reported as non
functional. This defect is causing the batteries inside the phone to
burst and explode the whole phone.
As a safety hazard, Samsung has recalled
over two million sold phones, in order to avoid any injuries or damages.
The recalls have not been the most successful, with more Galaxy Notes
randomly exploding in people’s possession. Samsung has already purchased
full page advertisements in American newspapers, issuing sincere
apologies for the recent inconvenience of cell phone explosions.
The company stated “We will re-examine
every aspect of the device, including all hardware, software,
manufacturing and the overall battery structure. We will move as quickly
as possible, but will take the time needed to get the right answers.”,
which leaves them in a tough position. It is no secret that Apple will
attempt to capitalize on the issue and pull in more customers to their
brand from Samsung. At the moment, Samsung is taking back all the
Samsung Note Sevens and doing a complete brand regroup.
