HTC’s new phone gives Apple chance to split the blame

HTC looks like it’ll be the latest manufacturer to drive a nail into the coffin of the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Leaked pictures of the rumoured HTC Bolt headset have appeared online and, sadly for owners of really awesome wired headphones, there’s no jack.
Instead, as with the Moto Z range, there’s a singular USB Type-C charging and audio port.
Elsewhere, the mid-ranger phone will run Android 7.0 Nougat and feature a 5.5-inch FHD display.
According to the report via VentureBeat’s Evan Blass (who else?), the device will have 3GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

Blass also says the handset will offer HTC’s BoomSound technology, but only when listening through headphones. There’s just a single grille speaker on the bottom of the device.
The home button also doubles up as fingerprint sensor, a la the HTC 10.
The HTC Bolt is scheduled to launch next month. Is it on your holiday shopping list?
